Let's Go for a Swim...

Hello...I have been so busy preparing for my trip to Japan that I have neglected my blog...sorry. One day while playing on Pinterest I discovered some fun images.

I found this book at http://50watts.com/Minnie-the-Little-Fish-Who-Lived-in-a-Shoe...I was charmed. As I believe you will be also.

These pages haunted me for a week or two...and I wanted to make some fashionable fish.

I had a lot of fun. I would love to find a copy of this book...it  was written in 1935. here are some more pages...

I do believe that these fish have been "well-schooled" don't you agree?

Have silly" air conditioning" fun,   Jody

  1. Oh my goodness!! These are absolutely wonderful! For more cute and fashionable fish, I recommend the "Bobbing Along" animated and live mixed dance sequence in Walt Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks, as well as Warner Bros' The Incredible Mr. Limpet. It seems to me that packing for Japan and thinking about fish kind of go together :)

  2. These are great! I have been making a birdcage in my studio as part of a costume for Black Cat and was pondering a fish costume for him next year or maybe even sooner. Thanks for the inspiration and link.

Have you seen the books on the Golden Age of Mardi Gras by Henri Schindler? The costume book has some amazing and elaborate costumes in it, think insects and food!
